LED & Electronic Signs in Houston, TX
Electronic message centers, LED displays, LED-lit signage and fluorescent-to-LED retrofits — designed, permitted, fabricated and installed by one Houston shop.
One shop for the whole electric side of your signage
“LED sign” covers a lot of ground: a programmable message board out by the road, the modules lighting your channel letters, the tubes inside an old cabinet that should have been converted years ago. We handle all of it — new electronic displays, LED-lit outdoor signage, and retrofits that bring older signs up to LED — from our shop in Houston, TX 77084, with our own 40′ boom truck and crews.
Electronic and illuminated signs also get the most scrutiny in permitting: brightness, placement and electrical work all come into play. As a licensed Texas sign contractor (TSCL #19124) we run the zoning check, the drawings and the filing before anything gets built — so the sign that goes up is one the city already signed off on.
Message centers, letters, cabinets & retrofits
The four ways LED shows up in commercial signage — same shop, same crews, same permit handling.
Electronic Message Centers & LED Displays
Programmable LED message boards let you change the sign without touching a ladder: hours, promotions, wait times, event dates. We integrate them into pylon and pole signs or mount them as standalone wall displays — like the electronic message centers we built and installed for Ally Medical, on both their pylon and their building. Message centers carry extra permitting requirements on brightness and placement, which we handle as part of the permit package, and we train your team on programming before we hand it over.
- Pylon-integrated message centers & price signs
- Standalone LED wall displays
- Programming training included at handover
LED Retrofits & Conversions
You usually don’t need a new sign to get a new-looking sign. Converting an older fluorescent cabinet or dim letter set to LED modules is often the cheapest upgrade on the menu: brighter output, lower power draw, and no more hunting for fluorescent tubes nobody stocks. Our sign repair crews do this work constantly — module strips, power supplies and wiring, photo-documented on jobs for Aqua-Tots, ATI Physical Therapy, Ally Medical and Aloha Poke among others.
- Fluorescent-to-LED cabinet conversions
- LED module & power-supply replacement
- Dark letters and dead sections brought back to life
LED Channel Letters
Modern channel letters are LED signs: every face-lit and halo-lit letter we fabricate is built around LED module strips wired inside the letter cans — the way we built and wired the letters for Anytime Fitness in Brookshire. If a storefront letter set is what you’re after, the deep dive lives on our channel letter signs page: face-lit, halo-lit and open-face options, fabricated and installed in-house.
- Face-lit & halo-lit letters on LED modules
- Raceway or flush mounting
- Fabricated in our 77084 shop
LED Cabinets & Monument Lighting
Internally lit cabinets and lightboxes are the workhorses of Houston strip centers, and every new one we build runs on LED. The same goes for ground-level signage: LED illumination is what keeps a monument sign readable after dark instead of disappearing at 8 pm. New cabinets, tenant re-faces on existing ones, and lighting for new or existing monuments — all one shop.
- New LED cabinets, single- or double-sided
- Tenant re-faces for property managers
- Lighting for new & existing monument signs
Bright enough for daylight, built for the electric bill
LED has largely replaced neon and fluorescent in commercial signage for practical reasons: higher brightness that holds up in daylight, a fraction of the power draw, far longer service life, and low-voltage operation with no gas-filled glass to break or leak. In practice that means a sign that stays bright and stays cheap to run — and when a section eventually does go dark, fixing it is a module swap, not a custom glass order.

One shop, start to finish
Electric signs fail in the handoffs — the installer who didn't build it, the repair guy who can't get parts for it. We build, install and service LED signage as one shop. Comparing options first? Start with our Houston sign permit guide or the full outdoor signs catalogue.
Questions we get
Do LED and electronic signs need a permit in Houston?
Almost always, yes — and electronic message centers get extra attention on brightness and placement. We run the zoning check, prepare the drawings and file with the city as a licensed Texas sign contractor (TSCL #19124). See our sign permitting service.
Can you convert my existing sign to LED?
Yes — fluorescent-to-LED cabinet conversions and LED module retrofits are core sign repair work for us. It's usually the cheapest way to make an older sign brighter, more reliable and cheaper to run.
My LED sign has dark letters or dead sections. Can you fix it?
That's one of the most common calls we get. Dark sections usually come down to failed LED modules or a power supply, both of which our repair crews diagnose and replace — we've photo-documented this work inside letters and cabinets for companies like Aqua-Tots, Castle Dental and Ally Medical.
Do you make neon signs?
Our illuminated work is LED — it's brighter, runs cooler and cheaper, and there's no gas-filled glass to break or fade. If you're picturing a neon look for your business, tell us what you have in mind and we'll walk you through the LED options for getting there.
Who installs and services the sign?
Our own crews, with our own 40' boom truck (see sign installation) — serving Houston and the surrounding metro, including Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, Richmond and Spring. The shop that built your sign is the one that maintains it.
